Okay Erica, you have convinced me. I hadn't even looked at this thing since the last time I updated, until today. So, what have I been up to, and how to best sum this up...? I finished my sophomore year in college just about 2 weeks ago, it's a really wonderful feeling. I took heavy hours both semesters this year, and it was rough in terms of trying to keep up with everything and still stay sane. I succeeded in it and it was a good thing for me to do. I don't think that I'll be doing anything that serious every again, but I might do it. Mostly for me, I realized that I was almost half way through my college "career" and there wasn't a lot of time for me to get really good at being a performer. And, as that is my goal, I realized that I need to get moving. So, I spent a whole lot of time in the practice room, several nights each week I would stay at school until at least midnight practicing. I got a whole lot better, but I still have a long way to go to reach my goal. So, on top of taking a really heavy semester, I practiced an insane amount as well. I also made pretty good grades, so I'm happy!
I was super ready for the summer to start so that I could spend some time doing nothing, and guess how long that doing nothing lasted? Half a day; that was all that I could make without going insane. So, I looked to find jobs to do to keep me busy, and there is a plethora of stuff that I did. I built some fence for Sarah in preparation for us leaving town. Then I moved a swing set for the youth pastor at my church. Then I helped some really good friends landscape their  front yard. It was pretty productive for 4 days of work. Oh, and I went to a party that the director of bands from GSU threw and stayed until 12:30 and it was a blast! Great times!
So that brings me to today, and the surrounding things... I've been out west for the past 4 days and it's been amazing! We saw the Hoover dam, spent 2 amazing days at the Grand Canyon, and then went to Slide Rock and Sedona Arizona and finally ended up at Ryan's house.  Let me just let you know, the Grand Canyon is off the charts!!!!!! I didn't think that I would be that impressed by a huge ditch, but let me tell you, I don't think I've ever seen anything so spectacular in my life. Wow is all that I can say.
Anyway... that's all for now folks!

Love you guys,

Ben

Okay, due to the overwhelming number or requests that I have received, I  have made the executive decision; to update this, my xanga.   Many things have happened in the 5 months or something like that since I have last updated this thing.  More than that, I believe that I have only even looked at this site that kind of belongs to me once or twice in that entire time.  I will not even attempt to fill you in on the entire time frame that has elapsed since that time but I will tell you what has happened in the near future.  I have taken up bowling in the past few months, not anything incredibly serious , you will never see me on TV as a professional bowler because that is not the lifestyle that I would like to live; it isn't conducive to family life.   I'm back in school for my fourth semester at Ga. State university.  I really am enjoying it and I have an amazing group of friends that I hang out with all the time.  We are all ritualistic, every Monday night we all watch 24 together and then eagerly anticipate the next monday night.  Tuesdays nights we all go to an amazing bible study in north atlanta for college age singles.  It's a great time of spiritual refreshment for all of us, and it gives us a lot of things to talk about  at school.  Wednesday night, there isn't anything specific that we do, but we do play basketball often times on Wednesday afternoons, it's fun.  Thursday night and Friday nights are usually taken up with homework and family time.  I don't really know what else to say, I think that the vast percentage of my reading public know all the things that I have herein outlined.

Anyway, that's it for know.

Love you guys,

Ben

Well. . . School is going in full swing. I think that it's going to be a great semester, I'm enjoying having classes with people that I know. Geography is going to be the best, on the first day the prof. said that seeing as how it is a survey class, he gives out A's and B's so if you show up, you'll be good. I can do that! My music classes are going to be great as well, they always are. Ensembles are going to keep me busy, but it's all good, right? I have some nice solo material both on bass clarinet and Bb. Dr. Long and I discussed rep. for this semester today and so I'll be playing Schumann's Fantasie Pieces, The Hindemith Sonata, and the Rossini Introduction Theme and Variations. I'm so excited about finally getting to play some pieces on my A clarinet!! I might also try to learn the Stravinsky Three Pieces but that just depends on how quickly I'm able to learn the other pieces. (I can't call them songs, Dr. Long always says "songs have words. . .") Anyway, that's about it in the ATL, at least for me. Pray for me because I can always use prayer!!

Love you guys,

Ben

Wow my friends!!! I had no idea that it had been that long since I last updated my xanga. It's late/early however you want to look at it, so this is going to be short too. I've had a great summer! I spent the majority of it working for a Christian camp and it was a great, great experience! God chose to further sanctify me by having me break my collar bone early in the summer and then rebreaking it when it had almost healed. It was a growing time for me. . .lol  I've recovered now though. I got busy practicing again recently, I was not the most disciplined practicer during the summer. School starts back in a little over a week and I'm really looking forward to it. It will be really great to see me friends from GSU again! It's been too long! Anyway, that's a really short synopsis on this summer. I hope you are all well, and I (once again) will try to be more consistant. . .

Love you guys,

Ben

Hey again! I haven't updated since last week, but I wanted to take time and do that this morning. Pretty much I've stayed busy since the last update. I did some more painting, and I did a whole lot of landscaping. Saturday I planted 74 Impatients, 96 Moss Roses, and 6 Gardenias. It was pretty insane.  Yesterday our church had a memorial day picnic, it was a blast.  I however did get as close to sunburnt as I really get, which still isn't too bad. Oh well, such is the beginning of summer. Today I have orientation for camp, which basically means that we show up and do the work that we have to in order to be ready for next week. At least we get food. . . I don't mind doing it at all, in fact, I rather enjoy it. Tomorrow I'll work some in the morning and then I am going in to Atlanta to see the group from school, it's going to be a lot of fun. Guys, I can't wait! Thursday the Stephens invited me over for dinner seeing as how I'm "Familyless." Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that they are out of town for the week. Well, if I think of anything else that you can't live without knowing, I will let you know. However, I have to get moving this morning and I need to go work.

Until later,

Love you guys,

Ben
